Who Are We?
We are a friendly non-contesting brass band based in Lutterworth, Leicestershire the members of which get together every Wednesday evening in the Lutterworth Town Hall from 8pm to 10pm to have a fun time making music. Our members are of all ages, abilities, shapes and sizes, but we all have the common aim of playing brass band music and having fun.
The band has a long history commencing in the 1950s. After a number of years showcasing brass music in the area a decline in the number of players meant the band was to fold. However, it eventually reformed in 1982. Since then the band has gone from strength to strength attracting players of all standards and ages. We always welcome new players. Most of our performances are as part of local fêtes and charity events. However we are privileged to perform at a number of major occasions in the region. We have also been proud to be part of various rallies and local events such as the Vintage Steam Rally at Ashby Magna.
We play for the Remembrance Day Service in the Memorial Gardens in Lutterworth and in addition we have a regular number of events in the area around Christmas time. Each year we play at the turning on of the Christmas lights in the town centre and we play at Morrisons and Waitrose Supermarkets in the lead up to Christmas.
